Comparative genomic analysis of recommended primer sets for diagnostics COVID-19 coronavirus infection

Due to world SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, development of effective diagnostic instruments for human coronavirus infections is especially actual scientific-practical issue. In this case, several independent studies included the scanning of primer sets, most suitable for revealing of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus RNA by RT-PCR in real time method. We collected and analyzed published data to find and establish the most effective method of detecting SARS-CoV-2 in infected patient’s biological samples. 22 primer sets(including those recommended by WHO)were chosen to carry out the analysis. The comparative analysis of Primers annealing sites to genomic sequences of viruses SARS-CoV-2 and SARS-CoV showed that there are 2 primer sets, that, providing potential mutation variability of genomes SARS-CoV-2, similar to genomes SARS-CoV-1 variability, will be most effective in using due to their annealing to conservative sites of SARS-CoV-1 genome.
